“Finding Me – Embracing, Change, Courage and Self-Love ” Episode 15: Soulful Snaps

Finding Me – A Soulful Reflection on Change, Courage & Self-Love

There are moments in life that ask us to be brave — not because it’s easy, but because our soul whispers it’s time.

This week’s Soulful Snaps is one of the most personal I’ve ever shared. Over the past few weeks, life has changed dramatically. I celebrated my 47th birthday and, just a day earlier, began legal proceedings for my separation. It was terrifying, heartbreaking, and yet – liberating. And the next day I was farewelling my Nan in her 100th year – the most inspirational woman I know.

For years, I believed that staying the same meant staying safe. But what I’ve learned — through photography, through coaching, through the mirror of my own reflection — is that change is kindness. It’s choosing yourself. It’s choosing truth, growth, and love — even when it’s uncomfortable.

How Photography Helped Me See Myself Again

Photography gave me purpose long before I found the courage to face my truth.

It helped me see people as they are – imperfect, beautiful, evolving.

And when I turned that same lens inward, I discovered the woman I had forgotten to love: the one who sets boundaries, who knows her worth, who embraces change as a gift rather than a loss.

So, my reminder for you this week is this:

No matter your age or your stage in life, you deserve a legacy.

You deserve to be remembered, seen, and cherished in a way that only a photograph can capture. Your story is worth telling, and it is worth preserving for the ones you love.

A Gentle Reminder for You

If you’re standing at a crossroads, scared of what’s next – please know: you’re not alone.

Change is an act of courage, of self-respect, of love.

Keep noticing the beauty. Hold space for the moments that matter. And never forget – your story is worth telling.

🌸 From my heart to yours,
with love,
Joanne
