There’s something so mesmerising about a peony — the way it bursts from the earth, unfolds layer by layer, and reveals its vibrant heart before gracefully letting go.
This week, as I admired my own garden, I was reminded just how much nature mirrors life. Seasons of growth, bloom, rest, and renewal — each with their own kind of beauty.

Profound connection between generations
Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a 65th wedding anniversary.
What struck me most wasn’t just the milestone itself, but the quiet, profound connection between generations. A son flying his parents from Perth to celebrate, a couple surrounded by love and laughter, and the way one look — one captured frame — could hold an entire lifetime of emotion.
Photography is about more than pictures — it’s about honouring the dash between the dates, the in-between moments that define who we are and who we love.
Just like the peony, our lives bloom and fade in cycles. The petals may fall, but the memory of their beauty endures forever.
It reminded me why I do what I do.
