And I get it—choosing outfits can feel like a lot. But here’s the thing: the right outfits can completely transform how your photos feel. It’s not just about looking good—it’s about feeling like you, being comfortable, and creating images you’ll love forever.
Start With You—Not Pinterest
Forget copying trends or matching the latest ‘photo-worthy’ looks. Start by asking:
What feels like us? What do I feel good wearing?
When you’re relaxed in your clothes, it shows. That’s when I capture those realmoments—the ones you actually want framed on your wall.
Texture is Your Best Friend
Photography Tips
Want your photos to have that extra bit of magic? Bring texture: linen, knits, lace, denim. Layers add warmth and depth. Just avoid big logos or anything that screams for attention. We want the focus on you, not your brand labels.
Colours That Love the Camera
Neutrals (think creams, soft greys, muted greens, warm rusts) are always a win—they let the people shine.
But hey, if you love colour—let’s go there. Earthy jewel tones pop beautifully outdoors, pastels work magic by the beach, and rich tones like burgundy or forest green are stunning in cooler seasons.
Accessories? Go Easy.
Jewellery, scarves, hats—they’re awesome accents. Just don’t overdo it. We don’t want your earrings upstaging your smile.
Skip neon though (trust me, it fights with your skin tones and nobody wins that battle).
Keep It Real with Groups
If we’re shooting a family or group—please don’t all match. It’s not a 90s catalogue shoot. Choose a colour palette, then mix it up with tones, layers, and styles that still feel like individual people, not clones.
Pro tip: Where we’re taking your photos is your biggest styling clue. Look at the tones in the environment such as sandy neutrals, soft ocean blues, or earthy greens and use those as inspiration when choosing your outfits.
When your clothing complements the natural setting, your images will feel effortlessly cohesive, polished and intentional, without looking overly styled or out of place.
Think of it as blending with the surroundings in a way that enhances the overall feel of your session.
