What to expect

before, during and after your photography session

A photography session — whether it’s personal branding, company storey telling or couples in love, isn’t just about the day of. The process can start weeks or even months before and extends through a post-shoot process to finalising editing, retouching and product delivery.

I'm all about creating a truly personal, truly immersive experience for my clients, which starts with you. Here’s a step-by-step look at the process and the important part you play in getting the best pictures:

My best advice?

Be you. Do you.

Finalising the details

After we determine a location I'll confirm a date, time and, based on that information, help you finalise apparel, props and poses.

Ask questions, look through my portfolio and figure out what approach you’d like to see in your session and final prints. If you’ve found great inspiration in step #1, bring printouts or websites along! We’ll discuss how you intend to use the images—save the dates, website, social media, artwork, framing, etc—and help you refine the message you’re looking to convey within your session.

This is definitely one of the most fun parts of the process. Check out Pinterest for inspiration on location, poses, props and general styling. Start thinking about your style and what you’re looking for in your session.

The Shoot

Your sneak peek gallery typically 4-5 images will be ready 48hrs after your session and your full digital gallery will be available 10 - 14 days following your session. This will be emailed via a secure on-online gallery where you can share your photographs with family, friends and on social media and best of all I encourage you to have your fav's printed and hung on the wall.

I'll colour correct your images, crop, check for highlights and shadows, and do a bit of retouching. Then I'll post a few “best of the best” to social media or my journal.

The day is finally here! Have fun and relax and you’ll naturally take better photos! I'll have your back, with simple direction to help you to shine brighter than ever before.

Question

What should we wear?

01

First and foremost be comfortable, and wear what makes you feel good. Prior to your session, I will share my "what to wear inspiration guide", here I cover how different colours and patterns create a certain look in different environments. If you're after a group photograph that is soft and easy on the eye, if everyone is wearing garments of a similar tone from two colour palettes, this creates a connected harmonious feel to the overall image.

Question

How do i receive my photographs?

02

When you work with me, you will have your very own dedicated online client portal where you'll find everything you need from invoices, questionnaires, galleries and more. I deliver the best from your session in a secure online gallery where you can love and favourite your unique images and download them all as high and low res files. If you would like your gallery supplied on a USB, I can do that, too, for a small fee.

Question

Do you provide my gallery in black and white?

03

Your gallery will be provided in colour and I like to use black and white for those special emotive moments which amplify this connection even more. If you have a specific preference please get in touch and we can discuss the final delivery of your collection of photographs.

My promise to you!

If you're not completely satisfied with the collection of photographs I craft, I ask you to give me the opportunity to reshoot your session. However, if we're really not a good match, I will happily refund your full session fee.
